The Frank Friar - Episode 148: Broken Glass: The Dangers of Belief

Recently, I saw the movie #Glass.  I liked it even though it was not a perfect film.  One of the main elements of that film was the concept of belief. Belief plays a huge role in each person’s life.  A person’s belief does not need to be rooted in a notion of God of the Christian tradition.  I talk about the dangerous of belief and the life it can produce in the world.  What we believe it shapes our lives.  Thus, we must become a people always open to reflecting on what we say we believe. The Frank Friar - Episode 147: The Dangers of Spiritual Blindness

I am back! Sorry I was away but life happens.  In the episode today, my mind is still thinking about the resent feast day in honor of the conversion of St. Paul.  We can never forget that the blindness of Paul was connected to his spirit.  He was spiritually blind before he became physically blind.  So, in the episode I talk about blindness, docility, and conversion.  I hope you enjoy it.  If you like my podcast, please make sure to subscribe to the podcast it really does help me.  You can find more of my content at my website www.thefrankfriar.com and my YouTube at www.youtube.com/c/thefrankfriar

The Frank Friar - Episode 145: The Spirit and the Baptism of the Lord

Today, I am reflecting upon the Holy Spirit during the event of the Lord’s baptism and what does that mean for the ministry of Christ.  We are in the time of the Spirit, yet it seems to be at times that the Spirit is not given much thought.  I hope this episode aids your relationship with the Holy Spirit. The Frank Friar - Episode 144: Learning from a Carmelite Reformer

Today, is the feast day of St. Andrew Corsini, O. Carm.  He was a Carmelite and a bishop in Italy in the 14 th century during the time of the plague.  He was known for his reforms, charity and preaching.  With everything going on in the Church during our own times, I pray that this man’s life may guide and strengthen us.  Here is a link to a great article about him. https://ocarm.org/en/content/liturgy/st-andrew-corsini-bishop-feast If you like my podcast, please make sure to subscribe to the podcast it really does help me.  You can find more of my content at my website www.thefrankfriar.com and my YouTube at www.youtube.com/c/thefrankfriar

The Frank Friar - Episode 143: Becoming You: The light of the Epiphany

In the past few days we celebrated the Saints Elizabeth Ann Seton and John Neuwmann.  These two saints help to start and establish the Catholic school system in the USA.  Thinking about these two folks and the feast of the Epiphany of the Lord the ability to know God and to grow into our humanity is in my heart.  Today, I share some of my still stewing thoughts about the issue of becoming human in Christ and the gift we have of knowing Him in Creation.  If you like my podcast, please make sure to subscribe to the podcast it really does help me.  You can find more of my content at my website www.thefrankfriar.com and my YouTube at www.youtube.com/c/thefrankfriar

The Frank Friar - Episode 142: Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself

We are in 2019 now! Happy New Year everybody!  Today, I offer you all an idea about the need to look at ourselves to gain guidance for what the Lord is calling us to this year.  Resolutions are good and nice, but if they are not addressing the issues of our lives we cannot grow in union with God.  Self-knowledge is a need we are all called into during our lives of discipleship. So, we all best be checking in with ourselves.  (Here is my article I refer to http://www.catholicstand.com/st-john-of-the-cross-on-appetite/ ) If you like my podcast, please make sure to subscribe to the podcast it really does help me.  You can find more of my content at my website www.thefrankfriar.com and my YouTube at www.youtube.com/c/thefrankfriar
